Justin recently told me that he'd heard that kids Rosie's age learn around 10 new words a day. It's phenomenal what little sponges they are. We've noticed Rosie identifying colors and counting in French this week. She also now exclaims "et voilà!" with great brio. I think she's learned that one from all the builders floating around the house...
On the other hand, her newest words in English are "annoying" and "organize", and she's taking great delight in pointing out to us what we need to organize, and what she's finding annoying. I was also politely reminded, by said pip squeak last night, to eat my soup nicely and with good manners. OMG. Talk about growing up fast, she's two going on tween!

I've been on a book reading binge recently. I've just finished The Wife, and am halfway through The Female Persuasion, both by Meg Wolitzer. The two novels feel very timely, given the current broader sociopolitical discussions around issues of womanhood and feminism.
Both books are soon to be major motion pictures too, with Glenn Close starring in one, and Nicole Kidman starring in the other. They're page-turners, and it's always fun to read the novel before seeing the film. Lena Dunham wrote a great review of The Female Persuasion in the NY Times, which is also worth a read.
Has anyone attempted the 21-Day Clean Program by Alejandro Junger? I have the Clean Eats cookbook, and am intrigued to try the cleanse, but I'm also slightly afraid that it might be too tough. Please share your thoughts and experiences!
